Saving the inside of your vehicle for people, pets and things you need for the road makes road tripping a pleasure. Everything else can be transported outside your vehicle – and we can help you with all the options!
Rooftop Tents
For those that don’t like to camp on the ground, we carry the Yakima Skyrise rooftop tent. Get off the grid, then simply fold your home away from home out and you are ready for a beautiful night under the stars (see above).
Cargo Boxes
For carrying luggage and other cargo, we have a wide selection of the best boxes in the business: Yakima. These boxes are durable, weather proof, come with locks and are easy to mount on most vehicles. Our staff will show you the options and even get them mounted for you.
Rear Mount Cargo Carriers
If you prefer not to have your cargo on the roof, you can mount it off your receiver style hitch behind the vehicle.
PAKMULE is a fully TIG welded beast of a cargo carrier, boasting nearly 12 square feet of cargo space (that’s half the size of a full size pickup bed)! 100% aluminum, PAKMULE will never rust, weighs a mere 42lbs, and yet is burly enough to handle 500lbs of cargo!
Access your coolers contents without unstrapping them? Yep! Raise the hatch of your SUV so you can kennel your dog? Uh huh, that too… WHILE LOADED!*
The locking, anti-wobble connection keeps everything secure, whether you’re crossing a continent or rambling down some backroad.
It’s not just a hitch basket, it’s a PAKMULE.
Kayak Racks
Carrying kayaks on the roof of your car can seem like a daunting thing to figure out. There are many options from simple foam racks to fully custom Yakima systems.
Our staff can help you figure out the rack that will carry your boats safely and effectively. We will install your racks to make it simple and easy. If you have concerns about lifting your kayak up to the roof of your car, we carry systems that will help with that as well.
We will not only install the rack but show you the best ways to strap the boats down.
Truck Bed Carrying of Kayaks
One of the simplest ways of transporting a kayak is in the bed of a truck. We can show you the best ways to safely strap a kayak into the bed of the truck. If needed, we carry a great selection of bed extenders. These allow you to safely carry kayaks in shorter bed trucks, or trucks with toolboxes. Also there are options to carry the boats “above the bed” to reserve the bed space for the rest of your gear.
Trailers
Trailers are one of the easiest and most convenient ways to carry your kayaks. Easy to load and unload. Serves as a storage rack at home. Easy to roll around the yard. No possible wear and tear to your vehicle. There are just so many reason that lots of Louisiana kayakers choose trailers. We stock trailers from both Triton and Magic Tilt with prices starting around $1100. Our staff will show you all the models, get you set up with the best one for your needs and even register the trailer for you so you won’t have to visit the DMV!
