The day started out very early as we all meet at Pack and Paddle Saturday morning. We followed each other to Choupique Bayou, where we unloaded the kayaks and began our adventure. The morning started out very good, we had fish in the box after 30 minutes from launching. Johnnie found a honey hole where he pulled out three nice redfish back to back. Whitney and his father, Trey, caught a few reds in the same area but were unable to bring them in the boat. Whitney, however, came out with a nice size trout. Lee seemed to be on a mission to wipe out the redfish. It seemed that he had a red every time we turned a corner. I think he went home with a limit of reds and a few trout. Brian and Gigi teamed up to bring a nice mess of fish to the dock. Soon after 10 o’clock the fish were few and far between. We paddled through the marsh to the inter-coastal waterway and back down the bayou to the launch, picking up a few more fish. I would like to thank Gigi, Brain, Whitney, Trey, Lee, and Johnnie for a great fishing trip.
