Our intrepid group collected at Bayou Dularge under threatening skies. We quickly unloaded the trailer
and packed our gear for the day into our kayaks. As we headed out, we broke up into two groups withaplan to fish a circular route through the marsh – one group clockwise, the other group counterclockwise. Everyone spread out along the marsh grass looking for signs of fish. It wasn’t long before Luke landed the first Redfish of the day – and it turned
out to be a keeper! John caught a couple of reds on topwater as the morning progressed.
As we fished, the clouds would gather, then slack off. We all felt very lucky to not be soaking wet. Halfway through the circuit we crossed paths with the other half of the group,
learning that they had caught similar numbers of fish. The afternoon was a little rushed with threatening weather pushing the group back towards the landing. Overall, we had a great day in the marsh with lots of bites, and landing a good number of fish.
