This route connects the Bayou Portage Road boat launch with the boat launch at Fausse Pointe State Park. Along the way you will see many large cypress, beautiful flaming Swamp Maples in the spring and lots of bird life.
Conditions to consider:
If you have a strong wind out of the north or west, consider putting in at Bayou Portage. If you have a strong wind out of the South or east, consider putting in at Lake Fausse Pointe State Park. Keep in mind that Lake Dauterivecan become very rough in windy weather. Use caution!

Northeast Put In – Search: Bayou Portage Road. Follow the road to its end – the launch is right at the end of the road.
Southwest Put In – Search: LakeFaussePointeState Park. The best place to put in or take out is at the boat launch within the park.
