Becky and I are excited and proud to announce that the Pack & Paddle Hobie Fishing Team has won BOTH of the statewide kayak fishing series for 2015! Scott Bienvenu, who many of you know as our shop manager won the Lafayette Kayak Fishing Club Series. P&P team member Steve Lessard won the Bayou Coast Kayak Fishing Club Series. This is a great accomplishment for both of these guys. But did you know that winning competitions is not the main goal of our fishing team?
Our team, made up of 7 dedicated anglers in 2015 spent a huge amount of time and effort towards accomplishing the #1 goal of our team: getting new people introduced to the sport of Kayak Fishing. Along with Scott and Steve, the P&P Hobie team
for 2015 consisted of Jeff Robinson, Lee Trahan, Doug Menefee, Wayne Lobb, Terry Hebert, and Greg Sonnier. These guys dedicated time and energy to share their knowledge in many ways.
Steve, Lee, Jeff, Scott and Doug all helped with hosting seminars at Pack & Paddle on where to fish as well as rigging and technique seminars throughout the year. All our members along with Susan Foster, Morris Houck, Stephen Outten and Butch Ridgedell spent time on the water as part of our Louisiana Hooked series of trips. These trips put our team on the water with new kayak anglers, giving the perfect opportunity to share tips, tricks and knowledge gained over years of kayak fishing.
