Adventure can be where ever you find it. Sometimes all it takes is to slow down a little and look. Early 20th century visionary of the Appalachian Trail, Benton Mackaye put it this way: “to walk, to see and to see what you see”.
Just a few days ago, Becky and I decided to walk home from Hub City Diner with our grandson Liam. At first, he wasn’t sure what to think about walking all the way home (6 blocks!). We started off looking for things to view under his microscope. Then we saw a unique tree and took his picture. After that we took his picture at trees, puddles, flowers – even an oil rig! We all had a great time and had an adventure just walking through the Oil Center.
In so many ways, the trips we offer through Pack & Paddle allow folks a chance to slow down and to “see what you see”. Our adventure with Liam made me take a moment to write these words and to show a few inspiring photos from adventures Pack & Paddle had close to home this past year.
We hope you will come and join us in 2015!!!
