New 2015 Hobie Kayaks are Here!

Hobie has made several awesome changes to the new year model that you’re going to want to test out for yourself. Here’s a few details on the new kayaks:

2015 Outback with Optional Adjustable H-Bar

The new Outback has gotten lots of attention with the significant changes Hobie made for this year.  First and foremost is the all new Vantage seat.  The ventilated hammock style design keeps you high and dry compared to the old outback seat.  It is also can be adjusted to a high position to make standing easier or adjusted low to the deck for efficient pedaling and maximum stability.  the deck of the boat has been flattened for easier standing.  This makes the outback a pedal craft that you can stand and sight fish out of.  The legendary Hobie Mirage Drive has also been improved with the addition of bearings.  This lowers friction and adds efficiency to the system.  A new optional H-Bar will be available to fit the Outback making standing and casting even easier.

2015 Pro Angler with Drop-down Skeg

While the changes to the Pro Angler series are not as extensive, Hobie has added some tweaks that we think will please fishermen.  First off, they have added a drop down skeg.  This skeg allows the boat to track very straight, making hands free operation better than past models.  The short round side rails have been replaced by new side rails with flat surfaces all the way around.  These unique rails provide a perfect location to attach Hobies new tackle organizer, rod holders, fish finder mounts and more.

2015 Pro Angler 17 Tandem

The Pro Angler 17 Tandem (available late fall 2014) is the first Tandem in the Pro Angler series.  Designed for fishing, this unique craft brings a ton of great ideas to the world of stealthy kayak fishing.  The size of the boat ensures that is is SUPER stable for sit down and stand up styles of fishing.  We can totally see this as the perfect family craft for taking kids, friends and spouses fishing in our kayak friendly Louisiana waters.
